Product Categories

The Product Categories function of Parts & Supplies allows you to search for parts by drilling down from a top level (i.e. category, motor type, phase, etc.) and then further filter the search by selecting subordinate descriptions or attributes.  This search is limited to universal motors. 

 

How to search product categories

 

  1. Click the appropriate attribute in the Product Categories area.  A fly-out for the attribute (composed of sub-attributes) appears at right. 

 

NOTE: The active category is listed in the field below the title Product Categories.    

 

NOTE: Not all attributes under Product Categories will result in a sub-attribute fly-out. 

 

 

 

  1. In the fly-out, click the appropriate sub-attribute.  The information from the attribute>sub-attribute search filter displays in the center pane of the Parts & Supplies page. 

 

NOTE: The attributes and sub-attributes selected are shown with a icon in the Product Categories area.   

 

NOTE: More than one attribute>sub-attribute selection can occur at one time.  The center pane reflects the intersection of the two or more selections.     

 

Options in this panel include:

 

Reset the search

In the Product Categories area, click the icon to the left the item(s) to reset or clear the search. 

 

Search through all parts listed

Use the search feature in the top right of the center pane.  Select the field to search by in the dropdown menu, and enter the information.  Click the Search button to begin the search. 

 

View part details

Click the individual linked number in the Item # column.  Refer to step 3 below for more information. 

 

View item description

Click the View Full Description link in the Description column.  A pop-up window displays with complete description information. 

 

Add to cart

Click the icon in the Price column.  The parts can be seen in the shopping cart (located in the lower right of the Parts & Supplies page). 

 

Compare two to three parts

Click the   icon.  The part is stored in the Compare area on the Parts & Supplies page.  Refer to the Compare section for more information.

 

Navigate through paginated lists (if applicable)

Click the arrow or page icons at the bottom of the center pane. 

 

NOTE: Pagination only displays with when multiple search results are present. 

 

 

 

  1. Click the individual linked number in the Item # column.  The center pane repopulates with at-a-glance and detailed part information, as well as technical information, for the individual part. 

 

Options on the Item screen include:

 

Check availability

Click the Availability icon .  The Availability pop-up window (view-only) opens, displaying suppliers and available quantities regarding the selected part. 

 

Adjust quantity (for the add to cart feature)

Adjust the amount in the Quantity field in the Part Information area. 

 

Add to cart

Click the icon in the Price column.  The parts can be seen in the shopping cart (located in the lower right of the Parts & Supplies page). 

 

Compare two to three parts

Click the icon.  The part is stored in the Compare area on the Parts & Supplies page.  Refer to the Compare section for more information.

 

Print part information

Click the icon.  A screen capture of the current screen is printed. 

 

View price

Navigate to the Price field in the Part Information area.

NOTE: The Call for Price option allows you to locate and obtain directions to stores that supply the selected part.  Click the linked Call for Price text to open the Store Locator feature. 

 

 

How to check availability

  1. Perform a product categories search by clicking the appropriate attribute and sub-attribute in the Product Categories panel.  Refer to How to search product categories for more information. 

 

  1. Click the individual linked number in the Item # column to access the Item screen.  The center pane repopulates with at-a-glance and detailed part information, as well as technical information, for the individual part.

How to print part details

How to clear search

NOTE: The following instructions are only applicable after performing an attribute>sub-attribute search.   

 

To clear individual attributes:

Click the icon to the left of the sub-attributes in the Product Categories area.  The center pane resets to any remaining attribute>sub-attribute selections. 

 

 

 

To reset the product category search:

Click the category field (displayed under the title Product Categories).  The center pane resets with all parts available under the selected category. 

 

 

 

NOTE: Click the icon to return to the Parts & Supplies page (home page).  This action navigates away from any search or process you are currently working on or viewing. 

 

How to use keyword search

  1. Activate the Product Categories area by clicking the category name or an attribute.  The center pane populates with category or attribute information. 

 

  1. Use the search dropdown menu to define the search criteria.  Search criteria can be (non-vendor) part #, catalog/model #, or description. 

 

  1. Enter search data in the search field (located at the top of the center pane). 

 

  1. Click Search.  The center pane repopulates with all parts in the category that match the search criteria. 

 

  1. Manipulate the search results as needed.  Refer to the How to search product categories and other subsequent sections for more information.
